About the Team
The Eau Claire Crush is the Chippewa Valley's premier adult amateur football 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The organization came to being in 2006, when a group of outstanding citizens came together with a single idea to provide the Chippewa Valley with quality entertainment at an affordable price, while simultaneously giving back to the communities that have lovingly supported them. The Eau Claire Crush entered their inaugural season in 2007 as a member of the Great Plains Football League (GPFL). We ended that season as the Eastern Conference Champions and runner-up to the GPFL championship.
In 2008, the Crush joined with seven other teams to create the Northern Elite Football League (NEFL). The NEFL is a non-profit organization formed to help promote adult amateur football and commitment to the community, while giving every team in the league an equal vote in operating the league. The 2008 season again proved to be a successful campaign for the Crush, as we went undefeated in the regular season, bringing home the Eastern Conference championship; however, we were once again denied the league championship.
In 2009, the NEFL expanded by two teams in the off-season, causing the league to restructure by moving the Crush to the Western conference. New Head Coach Todd Trapp led the Crush to a 6-2 season, second only to their cross-town rival, the Chippewa Valley Predators. The Crush led the league in scoring in 2009.
In 2010, the Crush went 3-5, falling in the first round of the playoffs to the Twin Ports Stampede.
2011 brought more changes to the NEFL, adding teams and rearranging the divisions. The Crush were in the AEC Central Division. Led by Head Coach Fred Hoversholm to a record of 4-4, falling to their cross-town rivals, the Chippewa Valley Predators in the first round of the playoffs.
In 2012, Fred Hoversholm extensively recruited new talent to add to the returning veterans. The Crush fought to a record of 7-4 overall and a 4-4 record in conference once again.
Now in his third year as head coach, Hoversholm has continued his recruitment to bring more and more talent and expertise to the team, and the Crush look forward to improving their record this year.
